Fraunhofer EMB celebrated its 10th anniversary with a ceremony and an entrepreneur's evening

For 10 years, the Fraunhofer Institute for Marine Biotechnology and Cell Technology has been developing biotechnological innovations at the Lübeck site as an independent institution. On October 29, 2018, the anniversary celebration took place as part of an entrepreneur's evening with companions and partners from business, science and politics.

In the foyer of the institute, the head of the facility, Prof. Dr. Charli Kruse and the invited guests reviewed the development of the research facility in a festive atmosphere and took a look into the future.

Schleswig-Holstein State Secretary for Science and Education, Dr. Oliver Grundei, the President of the University of Lübeck, Prof. Dr. Gabriele Gillessen-Kaesbach and the Fraunhofer board director responsible for Personnel, Law and Utilization, Prof. Dr. med. Alexander Kurz conveyed their warm greetings and congratulations.

Dr. Hans Nagels from Cellbox Solutions GmbH reported in his best practice example on the cooperation with Fraunhofer EMB and the development of a mobile incubator for cell transport.

Afterwards, the panel discussion offered interesting insights into the tasks and strategies of the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft. With the question "How does a collaboration with Fraunhofer develop and why is it worthwhile?" Dr. Sabine Hackenjos from the Chamber of Industry and Commerce Lübeck and some Fraunhofer scientists discussed perspectives of cooperation.
