New Materials In Cell Culture

From the concrete requirements of the practice different materials for the cell culture are developed in co-operation with the other working groups of the EMB and the industry. For example, hydrophilized and hydrophobized surfaces have been tested for various applications in cell culture; et al for the targeted formation of three-dimensional aggregates. In addition, approvable materials for clinical use are also being investigated for their detailed interaction with cells. In this context, the working group has developed a method that can be used to measure the adhesive power of cells on surfaces simply and in high throughput. In addition, carrier materials are also being tested and further developed, as well as hydrogels, in which cells can adhere and grow.
